PAN-Aadhaar linking not mandatory for these categories

The last date to link PAN card and Aadhaar card with late fee is near. If you do not link it before the deadline, your PAN will become inactive. After this, you will have to face many problems. Along with this, you can also suffer financial loss. Apart from this, you cannot even use your PAN. But for some people, it is not mandatory to link Aadhaar-PAN.
Some categories of people have been given exemptions to link PAN-Aadhaar. It is not mandatory for these people to link PAN with Aadhaar. That is, these people can use their PAN even without linking PAN-Aadhaar. Let us know for whom it is not mandatory to link Aadhaar-PAN.

It is not necessary to link PAN-Aadhaar to these people
According to the information given by the government, it is not necessary to link PAN-Aadhaar to the people living in Assam, Meghalaya, and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A non-resident citizen is not required to link PAN-Aadhaar under the Income Tax Act, 1961. Last year i.e. till 2022, for those age 80 years or more, it is not necessary to link Aadhaar-PAN. People who are not citizens of India are also not required to link PAN-Aadhaar.

How to link PAN-Aadhaar
– You can link Aadhaar-PAN by visiting the Income Tax Department’s e-filing website incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in with the process given there.
– Apart from this, you can link PAN and Aadhaar through SMS. For this, send a message to 567678 or 56161 in the format UIDPAN <SPACE> <12 Aadhaar numbers> <SPACE> <10 PAN numbers>.
– If you want, you can link Aadhaar-PAN offline too. For this, you have to go to your nearest PAN service center or Aadhaar service center and do the whole process.
