After Tuesday’s revision, petrol and diesel prices on Wednesday remained unchanged across the country. On 30 March, the petrol and diesel prices were reduced by 22 paise and 23 paise per litre respectively as international crude prices cooled off.

Today, a litre of petrol in Delhi would cost you Rs 90.56, while diesel would cost you Rs  80.87. In Mumbai, the retail price of petrol is Rs 96.98 per litre and Diesel is at Rs 88.06 per litre, as per Indian Oil Corporation.

Prior to yesterday’s cut, on March 25, petrol prices fell by 21 paise per litre and diesel prices were reduced by 20 paise. Fuel prices vary from state to state due to the difference in VAT and freight charges.

Due to VAT, excise duty among other levies the retail price of petrol and diesel almost gets doubled.

In the international market, oil prices fluctuated prior to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) meeting scheduled on Thursday. The meeting will be keenly watched as the organization is expected to decide on its output policy and an extension of supply curbs may be on the table, according to a report by news agency Reuters.

The fuel prices are generally revised on a daily basis in tandem with the benchmark international price and foreign exchange rates.
