A few hours after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it was a challenging task for her.
“The coronavirus pandemic ensured worldwide disruptions. In order to recover from this setback, this Budget will boost the economy and send positive signals to the world. The Budget has ensured the theme of Atmanirbhar Bharat does not lose momentum. It will ensure new avenues of growth and opportunities for the youth, boost infrastructure creation and usher in reforms so that the common man is able to experience ease of liviing. I congratulate Nirmala Sitharaman ji and her team for this Budget,” Modi said.
Modi said he has not seen so many positive announcements in the first hour of a Budget speech earlier.
“Many experts have praise the transparency displayed in this Budget. This was aimed at those sectors which will boost wealth and wellness. MSMEs, infrastructure and healthcare sectors have received special attention in this Budget. I am also glad that southern states, eastern states and areas like Leh have received a boost from this Budget. The untapped potential of northeastern states will also be addressed through this Budget,” he added.
