Punjab Police has started the recruitment process for the post of intelligence assistants (constable rank) in intelligence cadre and constables in the investigation cadre. The total number of vacancies is 1,191. Submission of the online application process is going on.
Eligible and interested male and female candidates can apply till August 16, 2021, through the official website of Punjab Police. Candidates are advised to check all details such as the eligibility criteria, application process, fee, salary, selection criteria, etc before applying.

Through this recruitment drive, Punjab Police will fill a total of 1,191 vacancies in the two cadres, out of which 382 posts are reserved for women. Take a look at cadre-wise vacancy details:
IA (intelligence cadre): 794 posts
Constables (investigation cadre): 362 posts
The remaining posts are vacancies against the sports quota, which shall be filled separately.

Educational qualification:
Intelligence assistant: Graduate from a recognised university or institution with computer science or computer applications or information technology as one of the elective subjects. Or BSc/ BTech/ BE in specified subjects.
Constable: The candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised education board or university.
Age limit:
Between 21 years to 28 years as on January 1, 2021. Relaxation of the upper age limit is applicable to reserved categories as per government rule.
Physical standards:
Minimum height required for male candidates is 5 feet 5 inches and for female candidates is 5 feet 1 inch.
Minimum Rs 19,900 per month at Level 2 of the 7th Pay Commission of the pay matrix.
The selection process shall be a two-stage process. The first stage is computer-based test (CBT) followed by document scrutiny, physical measurement test (PMT), and physical screening test (PST).
Candidates have to pay online Rs 1,000 as application and exam fees. The amount is relaxed for reserved categories.
