Shikshak Parv 2021: PM Modi launches key initiatives in education sector

Launching several initiatives in the education sector, Prime Minister said that they will help in shaping the future of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the students, teachers and other stakeholders at the inaugural conclave of ‘Shikshak Parv’ 2021. Modi launched several key initiatives in the education sector to take the National Education Policy (NEP) to the next level. The Shiksha Parv which is organised by the ministry of education is celebrated from September 5 to September 17. During his address, Modi appreciated the efforts by teachers, especially during covid times to adapt to the online mode and continue imparting quality education.

He said there has been a great contribution by academicians, experts, teachers, in the formulation and implementation of NEP, for which they deserve praise. “It is time to take this participation to a new level, where we also have to involve society,” Modi added. Launching several initiatives in the education sector, he said that they will help in shaping the future of India.

Initiatives like Indian Sign Language dictionary of 10,000 words, Talking Books (audio books for visually impaired), School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (SQAAF) of CBSE, NISTHA teachers’ training programme for NIPUN Bharat, and Vidyanjali Portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and CSR contributors for school development were launched by the Prime Minister.

Inclusive and equitable education

While addressing the education stakeholders, Modi talked about National Digital Educational Architecture i.e., N-DEAR. He said that it is time to have inclusive as well as equitable education and N-DEAR will play a big role in eliminating inequality in education. N-DEAR will act as a super connect between all academic activities.

Common Scientific framework for schools

Modi said that at the school level we lack a common scientific framework for assessment. The ‘School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework’ (SQAAF) will bridge this gap in the sector. The theme of the ‘Shikshak Parv-2021’ is Quality and Sustainable Schools: Learnings from Schools in India.

Another facility launched, Vidyanjali 2.0 is a portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and CSR contributors for school development. Modi said that Vidyanjali 2.0 is the platform for the country’s resolve to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ with ‘Sabka Prayas’.

While talking about the importance of training teachers, Modi said NISTHA 3.0 will enable competency-based teaching, integration of art and culture and high order thinking skills for the benefit of youth
