Low cost airliner SpiceJet it will launch 16 new flights, including direct services connecting Bhavnagar with New Delhi, Mumbai and Surat from August 20, it said Saturday. The budget carrier will also start 10 more flights that will connect Gwalior with Jaipur, Kishangarh in Ajmer with Mumbai, Belagavi with Delhi and Vishakhapatnam with Bengaluru, besides adding an additional frequency on the Delhi-Jammu sector.
In a statement, the airline said it would launch 16 new flights, and also adding Bhavnagar in Gujarat to its domestic network. It operates a fleet of Boeing 737s, Q-400s and freighters.
Earlier in July 16, the budget carrier announced that they would be launching ten new flights connecting Madhya Pradesh, to different parts of the country. The non stop routes include Gwalior-Pune-Gwalior, Gwalior-Ahmedabad-Gwalior, Gwalior-Mumbai-Gwalior and Jabalpur-Surat-Jabalpur. It will also be starting its second frequency on the Delhi-Jabalpur-Delhi sector.
The aviation company already connects Gwalior with Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jammu and Kolkata under the Ude Desh kaa Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme. It will also offer connections from Gwalior to Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kandla, Belagavi, Gorakhpur, Patna, Mangalore and Chennai through one-stop flights.
The new flights connecting Gwalior and Jabalpur to key metros would be a key boost tourism and contribute to the growth story of Madhya Pradesh, Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of the airline said.
Recently, the company also launched Spiceflex, a special fare that allows customers to make unlimited free changes to their flight bookings in the same fare type and also comes packed with a host of amazing complimentary services.
