In June, WIN completed its first set of programmes with 34 women participants, out of which 15 have successfully wrote their first cheque and are active angel investors at present.
In a bid to push women into angel investing, LetsVenture, an angel investing platform has created a structured, group-based learning programme called Women Investor Network (WIN). The Times of India reported that the primary objective of the programme is to introduce more women to angel investing, deal sourcing, evaluation, legal and financial due diligences. It also enables them to build a personal brand for themselves as angel investors.
According to the company’s portfolio, the platform had investors from 55 countries, and less than 1% of them were women, earlier this year. Overall, there were less than 25 women investors.
WIN to restart in September
In June, WIN completed its first set of programmes with 34 women participants, out of which 15 have successfully wrote their first cheque and are active angel investors at present. Also, about 5% of women have shown interest in writing cheques for growth-stage startups and ten women wrote two or more cheques.
This year the company had set a target of signing up 100 women angel investors, five syndicate leads and two women general partners. The second set of programmes would begin in September.
