The investors and traders at the country’s top online brokerage firms like Zerodha, UPstox, and ICICIDirect, were unable to execute stock sales because the Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) server was down. Users of Zerodha have been notified that authorising stock sales may be problematic due to the server issue. The company stated that it is having some issues with CDSL and that it is working to remedy the problem.
You may face an issue with authorizing the sale of your stocks due to an issue with CDSL. We are in touch with CDSL to have the issue resolved at the earliest.
“Due to a CDSL issue, you may have trouble authorising the sale of your equities. In a tweet, Zerodha said, “We are in contact with CDSL to have the matter fixed as soon as possible.”
Traders from online brokerages such as ICICIDirect, Upstox, and Zerodha resorted to social media to voice their grievances on the inability to conduct trades and demanded that CDSL and brokerages resolve the situation as soon as possible.
“CDSL services are unavailable, which means you won’t be able to get a new TPIN and will have to sell your stocks using your current TPIN.” In a tweet, a Upstox trader said, “We will update as soon as this is rectified.”
CDSL is yet to issue a statement on the situation.
