Insurance major LIC has launched an artificial intelligence-powered app ‘Jeevan Saakshaya’ which offers its pension policyholders the convenience of getting Aadhaar-based digital life certificates from the comfort of their homes.
Pensioners have welcomed the app which helps avoid visiting LIC offices during the ongoing pandemic times.
LIC pension policyholders can download the app from Google Playstore.
It is based on face match technology and offline e-KYC based authentication.
Life Insurance Corporation, which has been taking many customer-centric and digital initiatives, in a tweet, asked its pension policyholders to “Get Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate” with Jeevan Saakshya Mobile app.
The app can be downloaded in four easy steps. After downloading the app onto the phone, enter the Aadhaar and pension policy details. The next step is capturing a selfie. On successful matches of the selfie, the life certificate is generated and uploaded to LIC.
If a facilitator’s services are being used, the pensioner needs to provide necessary info such as Aadhaar and policy details to the facilitator. Further, verify the OTP sent to the registered mobile number of the pensioner. The last step is capturing the selfie of the pensioner.
Pensioners are required to mandatorily submit a life certificate or Jeevan Praman every year. Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate.
