Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency on Saturday, increased by 3.22% to $47, 661.75, while Ethereum also rose by  2.57% and was trading at $3,310.19. All the major cryptocurrencies were trading in green in the last 24 hours, except for Tether USDT and USD Coin which fell by 0.04% each, and were trading at $1.00 and $0.99 respectively.

Polygon to merge with Hermez

In a first ever Crypto token merger, the two native tokens MATIC and HEZ will be merged as Ethereum scaling project Polygon (formerly Matic Network) has acquired Hermez Network for $250 million, the company said in a statement on Friday.

It also added that, since this is the first full-blown merger of two blockchain networks, all components of the Hermez project which includes technology, live solutions, team and HEZ token will be integrated into the Polygon ecosystem.

As part of the deal Hermez would be fully merged with Polygon and would be renamed as “Polygon Hermez”, along with 26 members of its staff who will join the Polygon’s team.

Crypto heist hacker returns most of $600 million stolen funds
