Shares of Advanced Enzymes are in focus in today’s trade as they advanced over 12.5% and hit a high of Rs 422.35 per share after the company announced that the clinical trial data demonstrate that the use of its nutraceutical supplement helped patients suffering from post‐COVID fatigue symptoms or long Covid to recover much faster.
Muscle fatigue and cognitive disturbances persist in patients after recovery from acute Covid‐19 disease. However, there are no specific treatments available globally to treat post‐Covid fatigue complications.
The company said its product consisting of systemic enzyme and probiotic supplement — ImmunoSEB and ProbioSEB CSC3 have been tested for safety and efficacy on 200 patients suffering from post-COVID fatigue symptoms in a randomized controlled clinical trials efficacy.
The company conducted clinical trials in two segments—around 100 patients (test arm) were administered with oral supplements for 14‐days, and rest 100 patients (control arm) were administered with placebo.
The randomized clinical trial was conducted on 200 patients that did not have an active SARS‐CoV‐2 infection, as determined by a negative Covid‐19 test, with a complaint of post‐Covid fatigue. Patients were required to have a positive Covid‐19 test at any time in the past. The trial was conducted across three centres in India—Swasthya Hospital, Bhopal; Samvedna Hospital, Varanasi; and Chirayu Medical Hospital, Bhopal by Investigators for 14‐days, informed Dr. Abhijit Rathi, Principal Scientist, Advanced Enzymes.
