Low interest rates are driving realty stocks: Kranthi Bathini

Markets have a tendency to surprise investors and analysts alike. After a minor consolidation, we are again at record levels.

Domestic markets were trading with strong gains on the weekly futures and options expiry session amid positive global cues. S&P BSE Sensex surged to hit a new record high of 59,747, jumping 1.4% while the NSE Nifty 50 crossed 17,750. Bank Nifty was up in the green, breaching the 37,700 mark on the upside as well. Kranthi Bathini spoke to Money9 on what to expect from markets going forward. "Markets have a tendency to surprise investors and analysts alike. After a minor consolidation, we are again at record levels. This is the best time for investors to clean their portfolios, take out the weeds and only keep quality stocks for the long term", he said. The reason behind the surge in real estate stocks he believes is the low interest rate scenario along with the supportive government policies are aiding the sentiments. Apart from this positive news flow on robust sales is supporting the surge in prices.
