Stocks to watch: Infosys, Angel Broking, Wipro, Tata Elxsi, Aditya Birla Money

Trading of Nifty 50 index futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could rise 20 points at the opening bell. Overseas, Asian stocks are trading mixed on Thursday as China reported its second-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) jumped. the benchmark indices ended with decent gains on Wednesday, led by strength in IT shares. The barometer index, The S&P BSE Sensex, rose 134.32 points or 0.25% to 52,904.05. The Nifty 50 index added 41.60 points or 0.26% to 15,853.95. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,303.95 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs), were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1,335.91 crore in the Indian equity market on 14 July, provisional data showed. Results today: Angel Broking, Cyient, Aditya Birla Money, L&T Infotech, Tata Elxsi, Stylam Industries, Wipro and Tata Steel Long Products are slated to announce their financial results for June quarter Thursday.

Adani Transmission: The company has got shareholders’ nod to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore in one or more tranches through the issuance of equity shares, securities and debentures. The proposal to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore was passed by requisite majority in the annual general meeting (AGM) held on July 14, 2021.

ITC: ITC has augmented its capability in emerging modes such as e-commerce and modern trade channels with ”sharp-focused investments” and is also accelerating innovation with platform centricity and ”digital-first” brands in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SeQuent Scientific: The company has received EUGMP approval of its tablets dosage manufacturing line in Turkey. The approval was further complimented by the successful renewal of EUGMP license for 8 other manufacturing lines for various dosage forms including beta-lactam, non-beta lactam, terminal sterilization, mastitis, powder beta-lactam, aerosol, pesticide, and solids in Turkey.

Marico: Marico has acquired 60% stake in Apcos Naturals, the owner of Ayurvedic beauty brand ‘Just Herbs’. The stake will be acquired over a period of two years through primary infusion and secondary buy-outs. The investment is in line with Marico’s strategy to accelerate its digital transformation journey through building scalable digital-first brands, either organically or inorganically, as well as to premiumise its play in personal care.

TCS: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has added over 7,000 employees in the UK, including 1,800 trainees over the past five years. The Mumbai-based company currently employs over 18,000 people in the UK.
