On 20th March 2020, PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation and called for a 14-hour-long Janata Curfew on 22nd March 2021.
Exactly a year ago, the curfew was imposed following which a nation-wide lockdown was announced.
The curfew was observed from 7 AM to 9 PM. The Prime Minister declared that the curfew is “for the people and by the people of India.”
On March 22, 2020, citizens came out to their balconies to celebrate the valiant efforts of frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19.
