It is getting costlier and costlier to recharge prepaid plans of different telecoms in the country. If you have a Reliance Jio connection, then, you will not be able to use Jio’s entry level prepaid recharge plan of Rs 119. The country’s largest telecom has quietly discontinued the Rs 119 entry level prepaid recharge plan. Now, anyone looking to recharge active prepaid plans will have to pay minimum of Rs 149 if they use Jio. They will get 1 GB daily data for 20 days with unlimited calling and 100 messages on per day basis under the Rs 149 prepaid plan. On the other hand, the now discontinued Rs 119 prepaid plan had similar features but it came with higher 1.5 GB daily data but validity was of only 14 days.
So, price of Jio’s cheapest entry level prepaid recharge plan with data pack will now start from Rs 149.

Talking about other telecoms, Vodafone Idea’s entry level prepaid recharge plan with data pack starts from Rs 129 . Customers get 200 mb data under this plan. The plan is valid for only 18 days. There is no 100 SMS pack with this plan. While, Bharti Airtel’s minimum recharge plan for prepaid service starts from Rs 155. Subscribers get 1 GB data with 100 daily SMS, unlimited calling and 24 days validity.

Jio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan brings more value for customers. As, customers get 20 days validity, along with 1 gb per day data.
If we keep, barometer of minimun 1 GB/day data, lets see where customers can find maximum value in entry level prepaid recharge plans of top three telecoms in India

So, here also, amongst plans that come with 1 gb per day data, Jio tops the chart in value terms. Jio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan not only has more validity than VI’s Rs 199 plan, but its also Rs 50 cheaper than VI’ and Rs 60 cheaper by Airtel ‘s.
Bharti Airtel’s cheapest prepaid recharge plan with 1GB per day data starts from Rs 209. That means, it is Rs 60 costlier than Jio’s Rs 149 plan. Plus, customers will get only one extra day (21 days) as compared to what they would get in Jio’s plan (20 days). Rs 60 more for 1 extra day. It’s just not justified. So, in terms of value, Jio’s prepaid recharge plan is more economical than its other two counterparts!
