The world has moved online and so have the discussions. There are community platforms to discuss topics closer to your heart.
SHEROES is one such women’s community platform, offering support, resources and interactions. Women come online to discuss various topics, ranging from health, careers, relationships to their achievements.
In an interview with Money9, Sairee Chahal, founder and CEO of SHEROES, spoke about the genesis behind setting up the platform.
“SHEROES was set up because you know our lives are moved online. We do everything online. Internet is a big, big part of our lives and Internet also very efficient as a tool. So the idea of SHEROES was to build a safe space for women online, which was all about their growth, their journeys, their aspirations.”
She added: “SHEROES stands for women’s emotional and financial progress. It helps women build their identities, find a network , they get a lot of support from us around wellbeing and mental health. And then of course the biggest part is access to money through employment, entrepreneurship, and access to capital. It’s really leveraging the power of the Internet for women in India. And given that we are a country with a huge gender gap, this can have exponential impact. I discuss about women and their challenges.”
SHEROES also helps women by giving them access to capital helping them standing on their own feet.
“The other other challenges include access challenges whether in venture funding, or access to loans dispersed by banking and non-banking financial institutions,” she said.
