Come March 8 and every brand, every celebrity and every social media influencer puts the spotlight on what ‘being a women’ in India is. The most celebrated personalities will be interviewed, some obnoxious statistics will be published and many unsung women heroes will be unearthed. Money9 stands for celebrating womanhood, but cliched as it may sound, our philosophy is with a difference.
Financial Freedom
Freedom is at the core of empowerment. Decision making is the first step towards freedom. Women will truly get empowered when they take charge of their money. When the money they earn is managed by them, and them alone. Financial freedom of women will fructify when they won’t ‘ask’ their other halves where to spend, how to invest. Money9 endeavours to break every notion that money is a man’s game. Because it is not.
We also believe that a lot of social ills like dowry deaths and harassment of young, newly married women will end when women make a career, become financially independent and call the shots. That’s when we, as a society, become aatmanirbar and progress in the right direction.
Equality Is Everything
Celebration of Women’s Day is not about male-bashing or crusading for favouring one gender over another. It’s about equality. Equal opportunities, equal pay, equal recognition, equal celebration and equal security. At Money9, we stand for equality. We celebrate women’s day every day. There is no job, no role reserved for men only. Likewise, there are no responsibilities earmarked for women too.
Meritocracy is our Bible, equality is the first testament. We celebrate it every day, including March 8th.
Women Are Our Strength
Women at Money9 have, expectedly, aced every role. From journalists to anchors to producers – they have been at the top of their game, no different to equally competent men. To showcase the power of women in Money9, this Women’s Day we celebrate a ‘women-only’ 24 hours, where we present:
— Women-only opinion writers, including Renu Sud Karnad, Radhika Binani and Bani Anand
— Women-only anchors full day on our videos
— Showcasing woman-power in financial services – Swati Hotkar, Radhika Gupta, Lakshmi Iyer, Anu Jain, Punita Kumar Sinha
— Exclusive interviews with personalities that epitomise free womanhood – RJ Sayema, Capt Zoya, Divya Dutta, Shibani Sircar Kurien
This Women’s day, let’s celebrate womanhood – the Money9 way. #YesSheCan
