New Income Tax e-filing portal: Nirmala Sitharaman asks Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani to address outage problems
In response to the Citizen's grievances, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted urging Infosys co-founder Nanadan Nilekani to fix the glitches in the new income tax portal.
The Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in response to a tweet has said that she has received many grievances related to the new Income tax portal that was launched on 7 June.
Sitharaman tweeted urging Infosys co-founder Nanadan Nilekani to fix them and ensure that there is no “let down” in the quality of service being provided to taxpayers.
In 2019, Infosys was awarded a contract to develop the next-generation income tax filing system to reduce processing time for returns from 63 days to one day and expedite refunds.
The much awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night 20:45hrs.
I see in my TL grievances and glitches.
Hope @Infosys & @NandanNilekani will not let down our taxpayers in the quality of service being provided.
The finance minister’s appeal on Twitter came after many users started reporting outage problems when they tried to access the new income tax e-filing portal.
