Audio-social app Clubhouse will soon be available for Android users worldwide

The beta version of Clubhouse was already being tested in the US and will launch worldwide within a few days. It is expected to be available for Indian users by May 21

As reported in mid-April, the viral audio-only social networking platform Clubhouse will roll the application for Android devices worldwide in the coming week.

The beta version of the app was already being tested in the US and will launch worldwide within a few days. It is expected to be available for Indian users by Friday (May 21).

“Japan, Brazil & Russia coming Tuesday Nigeria & India on Friday AM Rest of world throughout the week, and available worldwide by Friday afternoon,” Clubhouse said in a tweet.

In a blog post, app creators gave a glimpse of the plan to expand the app across the globe slowly and steadily.

“Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly,” read the blog post.

While creators said they were working to bring the Android version at par with the original iOS app, several new features were in the pipeline for the iOS version too.

“Townhall highlights iOS upcoming: List of all the people who’ve paid you Find everyone you’ve heard in a room for the past 10 days Tag people in your profile Android upcoming: Working on feature parity with iOS Rolling out everywhere this week!” app’s official handle tweeted.

Developed by Alpha Exploration Co., the free-of-cost app has held the ground rather firmly until now. A lot of it could be credited to the overwhelming support it received from the Silicon Valley giants and other influential communities like Black creators, Gen Z stalwarts, and bitcoin peddlers who participated to make it the latest buzz in town.

The app, according to data from Sensor Tower, reaching 9.6 million installs globally in February this year.

A few days back, Clubhouse’s Android developer Mopewa had shared a few pictures on her Twitter handle describing the app’s journey from iOS to Android. This is when the world discovered the app’s future expansion plans.

From Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Rock, Drake and comedian Tiffany Haddish – all of them have appeared for conversations on the app which helped generate a fan frenzy and curiosity amongst people.
