A Zero Rupee note. Yes, you heard it right. This note is an imitation of a Rs 50 note issued in India to help to fight systematic corruption. One thing to note here is that these notes are not printed by RBI, but by an NGO known as 5th Pillar in 2007, to protest against corruption.
Well, it might sound weird but these notes were printed to troll the officials who are into a habit of taking bribes. Imagine, a traffic police officer asks you for some bribe and you hand him a zero rupee note instead!
At the back of the note, details 0f authorities are mentioned and citizens are encouraged to give these notes to the government officials that demand bribes for the work that is supposed to be done for free.
It also has a quote at the back of the note saying, “If anyone demands bribe, give this note and report the case.”
So, the next time if anyone tries to bribe you, give this note in return instead of giving currency notes to show your protest against systematic corruption.
