Whenever, you would have required to get driving licence issued from government authorities for yourself or for any of your family member, you must must have felt frustrated going through stringest government procedures. But now, the government of India has relaxed some rules and regulations regarding procurement of driving licence in the country.
According to the latest rules and regulations of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), now people no more need to visit Regional Transport Office (RTO) to take driving tests. Now, people can take the driving test in the nearest private driving training centre to their home. This has made the entire process very simplified. Lot of people will get relief from the government’s latest step. Now the hazard of going through strongest procedures at crowded place like RTOs will be reduced.
This new rule will be applicable from June 1, 2024.
So, let’s see what is the new process of getting a driving licence in India
2. Get a certificate from them.
3. File the online application form for driving licence issuance at the government’s website sarathi.parivahan.gov.in
4. Visit the RTO at the assigned date and time.
5. Submit requisite documents and the certificate at the RTO.
6. Get your licence issued.
Remember, the hazard of visiting RTO is over only for taking the driving test. For submission of required documents, you still need to go there. Plus, you cannot visit any private driving training centre. It must be authorised by the government to issue certificates. Generallly, such centers which have one acre of land will be qualified to issue certificates to two wheeler drivers. While, for four wheelers, these centres must have minimum two acres fo land.
