After hitting a new peak of 24,804 during the day, BSE MidCap index settled at record 24,783, up 78 points or 0.32%
Sensex slipped 149 points or 0.26% to 58,155 while the Nifty 50 index was quoting at 17,327 as it declined 41 points or 0.24%.

This week Sensex rose 175 points or 0.30% to settle at 58,305. The Nifty 50 index gained 45 points or 0.26% to settle at 17,369.

BSE MidCap index scaled to a new peak of 24,715, while BSE SmallCap index touched a new high of 27,645 in today's session.
The overall market breadth was positive as 1,812 stocks on the BSE advanced, while 1,366 declined and 165 were unchanged.
After hitting intra-day low of 57,924.48, the BSE Sensex closed 29.22 points or 0.05% lower at 58,250.26
Sensex advanced 59 points or 0.10% to 58,339 and the Nifty 50 was quoting at 17,372 higher by 10 points or 0.06%.
Nifty Metal, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto indices were down up to 0.65%. On the upside, the Nifty FMCG index rose 0.30%.
