FPI investments in Indian equities stood at $592 billion, which was considerably higher than the $552 billion recorded in the previous quarter
Fed tapering plans & spread of Delta variant brought Sensex down by 408 points or 0.73% to 55,5,221 while the Nifty 50 index was trading at 16,456.
This was largely on the back of robust net inflows from FPIs, coupled with the strong performance of the Indian equity markets

Sensex slipped 489 points from its record highs of 56,118 to end at 55,629. Likewise Nifty 50 settled lower at 16,568.
Market news: Sensex jumped 237 points or 0.43% surpassing the 56,000-mark at 56,029. Nifty50 advanced 69 points or 0.42%.
BSE Sensex surged 209.69 points or 0.38% towards the fag-end of the trading session to settle at record 55,792.27
In early deals, Sensex dropped 150 points or 0.27% to 55,431. NSE Nifty 50 was at 16,545, down 17 points or 0.11%.
Sensex closed the session 145.29 points or 0.26% higher at record 55,582.58. The 30-share BSE index touched a record intra-day high of 55,680.75.
Sectoral indices on the NSE were mixed. Nifty Pharma falling nearly 1% was the top sectoral laggard followed by Nifty Media and and Nifty Auto.
